These analysis and forecast maps are updated hourly (at ~t+1:07) from the operational 13km Rapid Refresh (RAP) model.
Clicking on the desired product will load the most recent analysis of that product onto the page. Only one product can be displayed at a time.
You can view the previous 11 hours up through the next 12 hours by placing your cursor over the desired hour below the map (-11h, ..., 0h, ..., +12h).

* The "HvyRain" parameter is only calculated in areas where CAPE>0 and PW>2.5cm.
It combines precipitable water (PW), surface relative humidity (RH), 850mb temperature advection (TA), and the 925-500mb wind shear magnitude (SHR) in the following way:
PrecPot = {36*PW + RH + 4*TA + 4*(25-SHR)}/4     (PW in cm, RH in %, TA in C/h, SHR in kts).
The line contours show 850mb temperature advection, with blue for negative and red for positive. The wind barbs show the 925-500mb shear vector.
